刚刚打电话给UIC的admission office，第一次听了2分钟音乐没人接，第二次那个女的脾气不怎么好，第三次还不错，听得很清楚，也很耐心。发音不准，我的first name里的S对方听不出来，直到我说“O,P,Q,R,S,...”，才知道是S。

 

ASU CIDES的小米声音听起来好年轻啊，yy。

 

发现GRE送分又提价了：$20->$23

冷静地接受挑战。

Though completed the online application, there are recommendation letters and transcripts to send.

 

The order of online submissions :

1. Purdue (12.15)

2. Penn State U (12.15) Resending

3. Ohio State U (12.16)

4. University of Minnesota (12.30)
5. UIC (to apply before 1.1)
6. UIUC
7. ASU (possibly)

Just made a call to the Graduate Admissions Office at OSU. Though with a little bit nervousness, but generally good.

Recently, I was obligated to help reviewing one of this year's WWW paper, which is well written with sparkling ideas.

From the view of a reviewer, one shoule learn more and deeper about writing an academic paper.

 

1. Begin from Abstract util the end of Introduction, tells an attractive story logically and smoothly drive readers' attention.

2. Reviewers seldom care about how you organize a paper. it is a chicken's rib.

3. Remember to illustrate the problem and solution via toy example, with clearly shown figures or tables.
